Narrative:
The action of the series "The Mediator" takes place in our time. The main character of the series Andrei Danilin, a former special forces officer who went through the war, now specialized in freeing hostages. Danilin began doing this back in the days Chechen war, and therefore earned a reputation as a reliable intermediary in negotiations between the kidnappers and the relatives of the hostages.
One day, Danilin is approached by his old friend, police major Karpushin. Criminals have kidnapped his beloved Elena Vlasyuk's sister and are demanding a ransom of seven million rubles. An impressive sum even for such a successful businesswoman as Elena, since all the money was in circulation plus loans and other obligations.
Therefore, in order to collect this money, Elena had to rent out her apartment. After listening to the story of the unfortunate woman, Danilin willingly agrees to help her ransom her sister and makes an appointment with the kidnappers, but gets into an accident on the way.
The broken car and minor damage did not upset Danilin much, the worst thing was that the money he was carrying for the exchange as an intermediary disappeared without a trace. Desperate Elena Vlasyuk, who had recently asked him for help, now reports him to the police, and his old acquaintance Major Karpushin is forced to take him into custody. Nevertheless, even in this difficult situation, Danilin does not lose his composure and promises Elena to return the money and her sister...
