Narrative:

The action of the movie "Bodyguard" takes place in the late 70's of the last century. The main character is Pavel Selikhov, an employee of the KGB department, engaged in the protection of the highest officials of the party and the state.

One day, a large diamond "Phoenix" mysteriously disappears from the summer house of a major party functionary, whose security was engaged in Selikhov, which the owner of the summer house was going to sell profitably to some underground collector.

Selekhov and his colleague Glebov are instructed to immediately start searching for the missing "Phoenix", but a few days later Glebov tragically dies on a hunting trip, falling out of a helicopter.

Selekhov realized that Glebov had probably guessed where the master might have gotten a rare and large diamond worth several million dollars. Shortly before his death, Glebov had hinted to Selekhov that the master was supervising arms shipments to an African country.

Selikhov reports all this to the head of the department Nikolai Grigorievich and on his instructions is engaged in checking this information. However, what the bodyguard soon discovers will turn out to be a real bomb, because it was about illegal and secret supplies of weapons to one of the countries hostile to the USSR.

The expensive Phoenix diamond was stolen from the house of a party official by his son Victor, who was going to sell the diamond and flee to the West with the proceeds.

But having in his hands such information, Selikhov realized that his life is now the price of three pennies, and even now his all-powerful head of the KGB department can not help him....
