Plot:

The action of the film "Barkhanov and His Bodyguard" takes place in the early 90s of the last century in a new democratic Russia, where those who understood the meaning of this new life began to live well. And its meaning was to earn money by any means, even if it meant breaking the law.

Instantly, society is stratified into the so-called “new Russians,” those who have understood the principle of modern life, and those who are accustomed to living on one salary, that is, earning money through honest work.

And since inflation was galloping across the country, honestly earned money was devalued very quickly, and it was practically impossible to survive until the next paycheck.

Former engineer Oleg Barkhanov realized that he could no longer stay at his plant and work honestly when everyone around him was stealing. He was willing to play by the rules, if only everyone else would play by them.

In the meantime, Barkhanov found his niche in his new life and, without much effort, began to earn decent money. No, Barkhanov was not a malicious violator of the law, on the contrary, he punished those who violated this law, only he did not give the commission to the state, but put it in his own pocket.

Unlike Barkhanov, his best school friend Sergei Alyabyev vegetated on a modest salary as a theater actor and was forced to listen to his wife’s lectures every day, as she never tired of reproaching her husband for marrying such a loser.

One day, unable to bear these reproaches, Sergei threw himself out the window, hoping to put an end to this difficult life once and for all, but fate took pity on him, and this time Sergei also landed in the back of a truck with mattresses.

Ironically, his old friend Oleg Barkhanov, whom he had not seen for several years, was riding in the back of the truck. Having learned about Sergey's problem, Barkhanov offered him to work with him, because despite his hard life, Sergey was quite an intelligent person. However, the position that Barkhanov offered Sergey surprised him a lot, because his build and physical fitness did not at all resemble a bodyguard...
