The plot of the movie The Dawns Here Are Quiet (2015 film)

The action takes place in May 1942 in Karelia. In the deep rear of the 171st railway siding, for the cover of which, from the air, two sections of the anti-aircraft platoon were located here. Service in this garrison was considered a resort for soldiers: women, moonshine, the absence of real combat operations.

Fights often broke out between the soldiers due to boredom and constant drunkenness. After yet another such fight, the command's patience snapped, and the entire garrison was sent to the front, with the exception of Sergeant Major Vaskov. The sergeant major got off with a reprimand and soon met reinforcements from "non-drinking" soldiers, in the form of young girls.

A few days after arriving, a German plane appeared over the junction, which was successfully shot down by the anti-aircraft girls, but they were unable to capture the pilot alive to find out the purpose of the flights deep in our rear. And soon after this incident, one of the girls noticed two Germans in the forest, wearing camouflage uniforms and with duffel bags on their shoulders.

She immediately reported the incident in the forest to Sergeant Major Vaskov, who immediately understood that these were saboteurs sent to their rear with the purpose of sabotaging the Kirov railway, the artery through which aid from the allies was being delivered.

Having assessed the situation, the sergeant major decides to destroy the saboteurs with his own forces, and, having formed a detachment of five girls, sets off to find them. Due to the fact that Vaskov served in this area during the Finnish campaign, he knew it well and quickly calculated the probable direction of the enemy's movement.

However, when he and his girls attacked the enemy's trail, there were not two Germans, but about twenty people. Vaskov understands that his forces are clearly not enough to destroy the saboteurs, so he sends one of the girls for help, and he and his detachment continue covert surveillance of the enemy.

But the Germans soon noticed the "tail" and, convinced that they were being pursued by a small detachment, decided to destroy it. Having no choice, Sergeant Major Vaskov and four young girls accept the battle with the enemy's much superior forces...
