Plot of the film Antikiller (2002 film):
The film is set in Russia at the end of the 20th century. The country was engulfed in a criminal war, with criminal groups in a bloody feud dividing up property and spheres of influence.
In these troubled times, former detective and police major Filipp Korenev, nicknamed “Fox,” was released after serving a three-year sentence for strict adherence to the principle “if evil is not punished by law, then it must be punished by other means.”

Almost simultaneously, a thief in law nicknamed "Krest" who served a twelve-year sentence should "kick the bucket". "Krest" was an ardent supporter of the thieves' law and he was outraged by the bandit lawlessness that reigned in the country.
With a heavy heart, "Krest" watched as the criminal traditions developed with sweat and blood over many decades were collapsing. Modern thieves, mired in luxury, did not want to trample the zone any more.
Now the thief's crown could be simply bought, and not earned as in the old days. Killing a policeman has become the norm for modern bandits, something that was previously considered impossible for thieves.
This last rule of the new life was unacceptable for the "Fox" too. His best friend, police major Krylov, dies at the hands of outlaws.
Having been released, "Fox" and "Cross" began to cleanse the city of unbridled outlaws, but soon their paths crossed...
