The plot of the movie Balkan Frontier (movie 2019):
The movie is set in 1995. For several years now. Yugoslavia There is a series of interethnic armed conflicts. A group of special forces under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Aslanbek Yetkhoev performs a mission as part of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Bosnia to capture an Albanian militant responsible for the mass murder of Serbs.
During the operation, the militant is killed, and Yetkhoev, who was ordered to deliver him alive, is accused of disrupting the operation and receives a warning of incomplete service. All members of his group were dishonorably discharged from the army and stripped of their military ranks and combat awards.
However, a few years later, the political situation in the Balkans changed dramatically and Yekhtoev and his group were again needed by the homeland. As the armed conflict in Kosovo escalated, Serbia, which the West blamed for the escalation, was being bombed by NATO in defiance of the UN Security Council.
The Russian leadership clearly understood that sooner or later NATO would crush Serbia and force it to withdraw from Kosovo, which would mean that the real power there would go to Albanian militants. However, not all was lost, because Kosovo had only one major airport, Slatina in Pristina, which could be used by NATO transport planes.
Yehtoev and his group were ordered to seize the strategic site and hold it until the Russian peacekeeping forces arrived from Bosnia ...
