Narrative:

The action of the film "Kruty 1918" takes place in 1918. After the October Revolution of 1917, the UPR (Ukrainian People's Republic) was proclaimed on the territory of modern Ukraine and some other territories. However, the new Bolshevik government headed by Vladimir Lenin did not recognize the UPR and sent troops under the command of Mikhail Muravyov to suppress it.

There is a catastrophic shortage of professional military personnel to defend the republic, so the hastily formed units are staffed with volunteers from among high school students and military school cadets.

In January 1918, volunteer detachments arrived at the Kruty railway station, where a battle with the numerically superior units of General Muravyov would soon take place. This battle would go down in history as Battle of Kruty...
