Summer 1943. After a long wandering through the enemy rear, Captain Grigory Kaltygin's reconnaissance group finally crosses the front line. A short rest and a new mission awaits the scouts. A source who worked in a German intelligence school reported that the Abwehr was preparing a group of saboteurs to work in the Crimea. The target of the operation was a secret laboratory and its head, Professor Sergeyev, whom the Germans were to transport to Germany along with his equipment.
