Narrative:
The action of the movie "Fartovy" takes place in post-war times. In one of the camps of the Gulag arrives a new stage, which was a former marine Vadim Uporov, sentenced to 25 years in prison for treason.

It seemed unrealistic to survive in such conditions, but Uporov succeeds, for which he is nicknamed "Fartovy" among the prisoners. Realizing that a 25-year sentence is almost a death sentence, Fartovy decides to escape, but the guards quickly manage to catch the fugitive.
But Fartovy does not give up. He offers the camp chief to master the open method of gold mining, which promises to significantly increase production, and therefore the plan. In exchange, Uporov demands early release for himself and a member of the brigade created by him....
