Plot:
Action of the film Bastards takes place during World War II. The Central Executive Committee put a report on Stalin's desk that juvenile crime had engulfed the country. By the end of 1943, there were more than half a million homeless children in the country. The most daring teenagers united into gangs and engaged in robberies and burglaries, attacking warehouses and bases, killing guards and police officers.
A military counterintelligence representative arrives in the Transcaucasian Military District. The purpose of his mission is to organize a secret intelligence and sabotage school in the Caucasus Mountains to train sabotage groups from among child criminals sentenced by the court to death or long prison terms for particularly serious crimes.

The head of the intelligence school is an athlete-climber, former lieutenant colonel, Anton Vishnevetsky. Vishnevetsky arrived to the post straight from the camp where he served his sentence. Konstantin Chernov, nicknamed "Kot" and Valentin Tyapkin, nicknamed "Tyapa", come to the intelligence school straight from prison. Recently, they and their accomplices carried out a daring raid on a food warehouse, killing a guard and several police officers.
Several of their accomplices died in a shootout with the police, the rest managed to escape. "Kot", the gang leader, was already an authoritative thief in the "juvenile" class, with several convictions behind him. "Tyapa" killed a police officer, he will soon turn fourteen, and then he can be shot. Once in the intelligence school, the guys hope that it will be easier to escape from there.
But the intelligence school is heavily guarded, and one cadet nicknamed "Skull" is killed while trying to escape. "Cat" decides to prepare for the escape more thoroughly than "Skull".
Several months of training passed and Vishnevetsky was summoned to the district headquarters. He was ordered to form a group of the best cadets to carry out a mission of special importance. "Kot" and "Tyapa" were included in this group, "Kot" was appointed as the group's senior. They were to land in the Carpathians and carry out sabotage on a German base where the fuel reserves of the Western Group of Forces were concentrated.
"Cat" understands that they are being sent to slaughter and suggests "Tyapa" to escape at the transit airport. But the transfer airfield is guarded like a camp... Before the drop over the sabotage area, the aircraft crew commander hands "Cat" a package with an action plan. It instructs "Cat" and "Tyapa" to parachute first, and the rest in 10 seconds. "Cat" and "Tyapa" landed safely, and the rest were spotted by the Germans and shot in the air.
"Kot" and "Tyapa" understand that their comrades were betrayed to the Germans to divert attention from them, and decide to carry out the mission in gratitude to their fallen comrades. While carrying out the mission, "Kot" is seriously wounded. "Tyapa" runs to the nearest village for help, but an avalanche covers the place where his comrade remained. Only on May 9, 2005, "Tyapa" meets "Kot" in the Caucasus, on the mountainside where in 1943 there was an intelligence school that changed their lives...
