The action of the movie takes place in the mid-70s of the last century. At the border outpost arrives a new addition of border guards who have finished training in the training unit. They are to serve at a technical observation post located on an island in the Black Sea.

The service here, at first glance, was not dusty: observe the sea and record the observation data in the logbook. And the new entry did not differ from the previous one: "No signs of violations of the state border were detected during the past 24 hours.

This relaxed the young border guards a bit, and one day they missed a trained border crosser. But the next time, when the intruder was real, the fighters were alert, because now they knew that the border does not forgive mistakes....
