Cop Wars Season 1 Part 1: Senior Werewolf for Especially Important Cases

The action of the film "Mentovskie voiny" takes place in the late 90s in St. Petersburg. A series of high-profile contract killings of St. Petersburg crime bosses swept through the city. One of the bosses, Genya "Mozart", manages to discover that he is being followed and catches the guys who were following him.

Mozart's people were able to loosen anyone's tongue, but this time Gena decided not to torture the guys who were following him, but to hand them over to the police. Mozart's choice fell on the senior detective of the St. Petersburg criminal investigation department Main Directorate of Internal Affairs Major Roman Shilov, who was famous for his honesty and integrity.

Shilov interrogates the detainees and finds out that the surveillance of "Mozart" was organized by a certain "Chibis", a former cop and now a criminal authority in St. Petersburg. The detainees also reported that it was "Chibis" who was behind the murders of the authorities. Based on this testimony, Shilov detains "Chibis", and in return gets a wagon of trouble.

"Chibis" worked under the police's protection, and all of Shilov's actions became known to the criminals. It was obvious that there was a "werewolf" in the department who covered for Chibis and sent the operatives on a false trail. The head of the UBOP, Colonel Arnautov, suspected Shilov of having ties to the criminals, and when evidence planted by the criminals was found in his apartment, which pointed to Shilov's involvement with the bandits, Roman's fate was sealed.

Fearing arrest and unfair trial, Shilov is forced to go underground. He understands that he can only save himself from undeserved persecution when he finds a real "werewolf"...

Cop Wars Season 1, Part 2: Not Child's Play

Three armed servicemen escaped from a military unit near St. Petersburg. At this time, Shilov's department is searching for the killer who killed their department's employee, Captain Solovyov. Soon, the operatives learn that this killer, nicknamed "Romanian", is related to the command of the military unit from which the armed fighters escaped.

The detectives decided to take a closer look at this unit. It turned out that this was a secret special forces unit, in which all personnel were not green soldiers, but combat contract soldiers who had been through hot spots. The escape of contract soldiers who could simply quit interested Shilov and his subordinates even more. Soon the detectives learned that several years ago a bus with six contract soldiers from this same unit crashed: all six died.

At this time, General Bazhanov from Moscow arrived at the St. Petersburg office to conduct an inspection. Shilov learned that Bazhanov was a former army general. He served in the GRU and also had ties to a secret military unit. Having dug up some more material on Bazhanov, Shilov realized that the general supervised this unit, which had a real school for professional killers.

With their help, General Bazhanov and his people sought to take control of the most profitable criminal business in the city...
