The plot of the movie Moonsund (movie 1987):

The action of the movie takes place in the period from 1915 to 1917. At this time, revolutionary sentiments were sweeping Russia, negatively affecting discipline in the army and navy. Incited by Bolsheviks' tales of peace and universal equality, soldiers and sailors refused to follow the orders of officers, and the latter often had to resort to extreme measures to restore order.

This makes the relationship between officers and soldiers and sailors even more irreconcilable. Soldiers' and sailors' committees are created in units and on ships, which are endowed with unlimited rights, up to and including blocking any order of the commander.

The officers realized that such democracy in the army and navy leads to decay, and in wartime to defeat in the war. This was soon realized by the Bolsheviks as well. And they also finally realized that surrender to the enemy will not lead to the end of the war, so they urgently began to change strategy.

Senior Lieutenant Sergei Arteniev, a senior officer of the destroyer "Novik", far from politics, experiences with pain in his heart the decay of the once glorious Baltic fleet, but neither he nor all the officers taken together could not change the situation.
