The plot of the movie Morozko (movie 1964):
Once upon a time there lived an old man and an old woman, and they had two daughters: one beautiful and clever, the other ugly and stupid. The beautiful and clever one was called Nastenka. Her mother died long ago, and her father married for the second time. But the wicked stepmother did not love her stepdaughter, and while her own daughter Marfusha lounged in bed and suffered from idleness, Nastya did all the housework.
At that time, while Nastya was doing another black job, the widowed son Ivan was leaving home in search of a better lot. Vanya was too self-loving and boastful. Like a red maiden he always carried a mirror with him and never stopped admiring himself. Local girls dreamed of marrying him, but the proud Ivan paid no attention to them.
While wandering through the forest, Ivan met a kind wizard, an old beaver. The old man offers to play hide-and-seek with Ivan. When Ivan has found the old man, he gives him a bow and arrows. The old man only asks Ivan to say a magic word of thanks to him, but Ivan replies by saying that let the bears bow to him.
The old man promised Ivan that he would bend his back before him. And the good man continued on his way. On a stone by the roadside Ivan read that he would find his happiness if he threw a feather into the sky, which would lead him to the right place. Having shot a bird with a bow, Ivan took a feather from it and threw it into the sky. Following the feather, he saw Nastya in the forest, who had been forced by her evil stepmother to grow flowers on a rotten stump.

Admiring Nastenka's beauty, Ivan immediately asks her to marry him. But Nastenka thinks that Ivan is in too much of a hurry. Then Vanya begins to praise himself, and to show his valor he decides to shoot a bear. But Nastenka felt sorry for the bear, who had little cubs, and she put a bucket on his head to stop Ivan.
But when Ivan took off the bucket, he saw a bear's head instead of his own. When Ivan saw himself in the mirror, he was stunned, accused Nastya of witchcraft and cursed her. In despair, he goes to the old bearded beaver to ask to unbind him. But the old man advises Ivan to change and then his curse will go away. Ivan begins to do only good deeds and soon regains his human head.
But now he can't wait to ask for forgiveness from Nastenka, whom he accused of evil sorcery. At this time, the evil Stepmother is trying to marry off her daughter Marfusha. But the suitors, seeing the beautiful Nastenka, do not want to marry Marfusha, and then the stepmother orders her husband to take her stepdaughter to the forest and leave her there. The good wizard Morozko, lord of frost, snow and blizzard, found the girl freezing in the forest.
He felt sorry for the kind girl and took her to his house. One day Morozko went to the forest on business and forgot his magic frosty staff at home. Accidentally touching the staff, Nastenka fell into a dead sleep. But Ivan searched for Nastya, and standing by her cold body asked for forgiveness. These words melted the cold ice and Nastenka woke up.
Then Morozko gave the girl a rich dowry and she and Ivan went to her father to ask for his blessing. Having seen Nastya's fiancé and her dowry, the wicked stepmother asks her husband to take Marfusha to the forest. But the daughter returned home in a sleigh with pigs instead of horses. And in the chests instead of expensive stones - crows ...
