For the sake of his fortune, Fernand was of course ready to marry Denise, but first he would like to at least take a look at her. However, the boarding school's abbess categorically opposed her pupil's meeting with the young officer.
At this time, Denise receives a letter from her parents, from which she learns that her parents have decided to recall her from boarding school and marry her off to a young officer. The abbess entrusts the singing teacher Monsieur Celestin to accompany the girl to Paris.

But most of all, Denise, who performed under the pseudonym of Mademoiselle Nitouche, strikes the heart of Lieutenant Fernand Champlatray, who falls in love with her at first sight and is ready to marry her immediately, violating parental orders and even losing his entire paternal inheritance...
