Narrative:

The action of the series "Operetta of Captain Krutov" takes place in our time. The main character of the series, actor of the Moscow Drama Theater Denis Kalugin has not received serious roles lately and is forced to act in low-budget police series.

His hero is an employee of the fictional police department BUR (Bureau of Criminal Investigations), Captain Krutov, a brutal cop who does not hesitate to engage in hand-to-hand combat with criminals, shoots on the move with both hands and risks his life every day.

As often happens in life, the lead actor is the direct opposite of his character, and Denis Kalugin was no exception, so the series' management decides to send him for an internship in the police.

From the first days of his internship, Denis is convinced that real police everyday life is very far from what is shown on the screen and the work of operatives is not dangerous adventures with shooting, but mainly paperwork.

However, Kalugin's internship coincides with a whole series of strange incidents, directly or indirectly connected with Denis himself, and this significantly enlivens the activities of his new department.

First, a laptop mysteriously disappears from Kalugin's apartment, then a certain Sancho, a trusted man of the criminal businessman Ganaev, is murdered. Ganaev himself was a big fan of the theater where Denis worked and its main patron. And besides everything else, Ganaev was the lover of actress Maria Skvortsova, Kalugin's ex-wife, whom he suspected of having an affair with Maria.

Given these circumstances, Denis becomes almost the main suspect in the murder, and even his new comrades from the police did not doubt it. But the long game of a tough cop did not go in vain for Kalugin, he not only protects himself from unfounded suspicions, but also figures out the real killer...
