Major Yuri Bragin, an investigator for especially important cases, has been serving in Moscow for the past six months. In the capital, he was involved in the work of three investigative teams investigating high-profile cases. In the course of his duties, Bragin faced a series of threats. This culminated in an incident qualified as attempted murder.

For security reasons, Major Bragin was transferred back to St. Petersburg. He was assigned to the first department of the Second Investigative Department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

In parallel with Bragin's transfer, a similar decision was made with regard to Mikhail Shibanov. He was to demonstrate his professional qualities at his new duty station in St. Petersburg. Details of Shibanov's new appointment have not yet been disclosed.

St. Petersburg investigators are facing a new task. The Department of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments of Russia in St. Petersburg asked the Investigative Committee for assistance.

The search for a particularly dangerous criminal Igor Karmukhin continues in the city. Karmukhin escaped from a closed psychiatric hospital during a fire. As a result of the fire, four people died, including two employees of the UFSIN.

The circumstances of the fire and Karmukhin's escape are being investigated. Considering the danger of the criminal, significant law enforcement forces have been involved in the search.

The investigation will have to establish all the details of what happened, including the causes of the fire and possible accomplices in the escape. Bragin and Shibanov are likely to be involved in the investigation of this complex case. Their experience and professionalism may prove decisive in catching Karmukhin and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
