Plot:

The film "Before We Part" takes place in the early 1980s in the Far East. The setting is a small airfield built on one of the Soviet islands near Alaska in 1942, which served as a staging point for American military aircraft.

The airfield was living out its last days, they were going to close it soon, but for now about a dozen passengers gathered here, waiting for a plane to the mainland. Due to bad weather raging over the island, the flight was delayed for an indefinite period of time, and the passengers, forced to linger in this small airport area, are forced to communicate with each other.

They are surprised to learn that among them is an American, Robert Halman, a professor at the University of California. The professor studied the fauna of the Far East and spoke Russian very well. His father was a military pilot and was shot down during the war not far from these places.

Father was helped by a Russian girl Antonina, who worked here as a barmaid. Now Robert could personally thank Antonina for his father, and his new friends were convinced that not all Americans are enemies and want war with Russia.

Before parting forever, Robert promises to appeal to the US President with a request to stop the tensions between the two countries that fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism during the Second World War...
