Plot of the film Primorsky Boulevard (1988 film):
The film takes place in Odessa, in the late 80s of the last century. Writer and playwright Ilya Petrovich Ogonykov is working on a script for a Gosstrakh commercial that would explain to citizens in a popular form the need for insurance.
Ilya Petrovich's latest script was criticized by the head of the Gosstrakh advertising department. Zhana Lvovna warns Ogonykov that if he does not present a new and interesting script soon, the contract with him will be terminated, with the return of the advance he received.
At this time, corporal Alexander Yarmolenko, having served in the army, returns home. Near the department store, he accidentally meets a girl, Lena, who, ironically, has the same bag as Sasha, and as a result, an involuntary exchange of bags occurs. Seeing that the bag is not his, Sasha tries to catch up with Lena, but she gets on the bus and leaves.
In an attempt to catch up with Lena, Sasha ran out onto the roadway and almost got hit by a Zaporozhets. The driver of the Zaporozhets, Ilya Petrovich Ogonykov, turned the steering wheel to avoid a collision with a person, and the car collided with a fence. As a result of the accident, the Zaporozhets was repaired, Ilya Petrovich was in the hospital, and Sasha became Ogonykov's debtor: he had to pay for the expensive repairs to the car.
But upon learning that the reason for everything was a beautiful girl, Ilya Petrovich forgives Sasha's debt in exchange for Sasha telling him about her future relationship with this girl. This uncontrived story was supposed to serve as a kind of impetus in Ogonyok's creative stagnation. Sasha tries to fulfill his part of the agreement and begins to court Lena.
But Lena has a fiancé, a promising young man named Volodya. Moreover, their wedding day has already been set, after which the newlyweds will go abroad, where Volodya is sent to work. Sasha just meets Lena at the dressmaker's house, where she was sewing her wedding dress.

The dressmaker's husband, a photographer, takes Sasha for a groom, invites him into the house, and then offers the "newlyweds" to take a photo as a keepsake. Having received the photo, Sasha immediately rushes to the hospital to see Ilya Petrovich, to boast of his success in "developing" Lena.
But when Ilya Petrovich saw the photograph, he was stunned, because this was his daughter! Sasha asks Ilya Petrovich not to worry, he will no longer look after Lena, and will pay for the repair of the Zaporozhets. At that moment, Ogonyok's youngest daughter, Dasha, enters the room.
Dasha's father asks Dasha to save the script. At first, Dasha tried to persuade Sasha to take her sister away from her fiancé. But Sasha realized that he was truly in love with Dasha and tells Lena about their agreement with her father. Having found himself in a difficult situation, he refuses to cooperate with Ogonyok and decides to repair his car with his friends.
At this time, a wedding dress and a photograph of her and Sasha are brought to Lena's house. Upon seeing this photo, the jealous Volodya, without waiting for an explanation, left. Dasha also saw this photo. After this, Dasha also disappeared from home, writing to her parents that she was going to Yalta. Upon learning of this, Sasha and Dasha's parents immediately set off for the port. Their paths cross in the port area, and Sasha again gets in the way of the ill-fated Zaporozhets...
