Plot:

The action of the series "Five Minutes of Silence Season 1" takes place in our time. A graduate of the Emergencies Ministry Academy, Alexander Grek, plans to stay in Moscow after graduation and serve in the analytical department of the main department of the ministry. The young lieutenant had every reason to do this, because he was an excellent student, an athlete, and his uncle was a general Ministry of Emergency Situations promised to help.

Here Grek planned to undergo a planned two-month internship, but the HR department decided otherwise and sent the lieutenant for an internship in the mountain search squad 40-21 of the city of Severogorsk in Karelia. As an executive officer, Grek did not argue with the HR people, hoping that this was just a misunderstanding and in a few days, not without the help of his uncle, he would return to Moscow. But circumstances turned out differently.

From the first days of his stay in the detachment, Grek did not have a good relationship with his commander, Major Gireyev. The principled, honest Gireyev, at 45 years old, was only a major, while many of his classmates were already colonels and even generals.

And this circumstance at first did not inspire respect for the chief on the part of the young lieutenant. Gireyev, in turn, considered the trainee a spoiled Moscow rich kid and a mama's boy.

And to prove to Gireev that he is also worth something, Grek decides to stay in the detachment until the end of the internship and even asks his uncle to revoke the order for an early return to Moscow. And soon Grek learns that Gireev was acquainted with his father, who died in the late 90s. Alexander realized that Gireev was with his father on the day of his death and asks the major to tell how it happened, but Gireev flatly refuses to talk about it.
