Narrative:

The action of the series "Five Minutes of Silence Season 3 (New Horizons)" takes place in our time. Management Ministry of Emergency Situations decides to send some of the employees of the 42-21 mountain search detachment on a mission to Ulyanovsk. The group includes the detachment commander himself, Major Gireyev, captains Nikolai Petrov and Andrei Balashov, as well as recent trainee Senior Lieutenant Alexander Grek.

True, now Grek was an experienced rescuer and could pass on his experience to the same trainees that he himself had been just a year ago.

Literally in the first days of Gireev’s group’s work in Ulyanovsk, a large-scale accident occurs on the bridge over the Volga, involving several cars, a fuel tanker and a bus.

Under the direct supervision of Major Gireyev, a complex rescue operation begins, however, despite the efforts of the rescuers, this time it was not possible to avoid casualties. The deceased turns out to be a young man, Denis, the adopted son of the plant director, Zoya Filippova. Distraught with grief, Filippova blames Gireyev for everything and asks the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations not only to remove the major from his post, but also to severely punish him.

Since the enterprise headed by Filippova was one of the largest in the city, her voice was listened to and clouds gathered over Gireyev again.

However, soon strange things began to happen at Zoya Filippova's plant: illegal removal of garbage from the enterprise, mass poisoning of workers in the plant canteen, and even a mine found in scrap metal. A commission was created to investigate these incidents, led by Major Gireyev of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Despite what Filippova had done for him, Gireyev did not hold a grudge against her. He still did not absolve himself of responsibility for Denis's death and therefore tried to investigate these incidents quite impartially and objectively...
