Narrative:
The action of the movie "Old-Fashioned Comedy" takes place in the 70s of the last century. The main character of the movie is a lonely and elderly man Rodion Nikolaevich who works as a doctor in one of the sanatoriums in the Baltics, where one day comes on vacation the same young and lonely Muscovite Lidia Vasilievna Gerber.
Having lost his wife in the war, who died in these places, Rodion Nikolayevich after the war remained to live in the Baltics, and, remaining faithful to his dead wife, never decided to tie his life with another woman. He had a grown-up daughter, who had already married a few years ago and left with her husband on a foreign mission, to Japan.
For Lidia Vasilievna, the war also took away the most precious thing in her life - her only son. In the past she was a circus performer and performed with her husband, but a few years ago her husband left her for another woman, much younger than Lydia Vasilyevna, who took her place in the circus act. Lidia Vasilyevna herself had to leave the stage and get a job at the same circus, only as a cashier.
The meeting of two elderly and lonely people was a real revolution in their lives and promised to be filled with new meaning, but to her dismay Lydia Vasilievna noticed that her beau was not very persistent and avoided the question of their further rapprochement. And one day the woman learned that Rodion Nikolayevich visits the grave of his dead wife every morning and puts fresh flowers on it....
