Narrative:

The action of the movie "Tabor Goes to the Sky" takes place at the end of the 19th century in Transcarpathia, the outskirts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The main character of the movie, a gypsy baron and horse thief Loiko Zabara, feels the breath of death on him. He turns to the old gypsy Makar Chudra for advice, and the gypsy sage tells Zabara how to live happily ever after.

The three simple rules of life from Chudra were: don't love money because you will be cheated; don't love women because you will be cheated; of all wines, the most intoxicating is the will.

But Zabara does not follow the instructions and principles laid down by the old gypsy. He steals horses and sells them for gold, incurring the wrath of the authorities and the local population. Daring and daring he constantly walks on the razor blade, getting ambushed by the police, but each time the successful horse thief escapes justice. Once Zabara was even arrested, but he seemed to manage the impossible: to escape straight from the execution platform.

But danger lurked on the other side of Zabara, from where no one could expect a blow. He falls in love with Rada, a girl from a neighboring tabor, as proud and freedom-loving as himself. Rada is ready to become Zabara's wife, but with one condition: he must come to her in the tabor and in front of all the honest people kneel before her and kiss her right hand.

Zabara does go to Rada's tabor, but his pride does not allow him to do what Rada asked him to do, for kneeling is a humiliation among Gypsies. Rada continues to insist with arrogant mockery, and then Zabara takes out a knife and plunges it into the heart of his bride. Dropping the knife, Zabara picks up the dying Rada in his arms and is stabbed in the back by her father....
