The ocean cruise liner Titanic left the British city of Southampton on April 10, 1921, and headed for the shores of the United States, to New York. On April 14, the Titanic, which was traveling at maximum speed, collided with an iceberg, as a result of which it sank several hours later. A significant number of passengers died from hypothermia in the icy waters of the Atlantic. Of the several thousand passengers on the Titanic, several hundred managed to survive.
The Titanic disaster has become the most popular in world cinema. Dozens of documentaries and feature films have been made, interpreting the official version, as well as the fictional and even mystical. The 2012 Titanic series tells the story of the official historical version of the Titanic's demise, which was reconstructed by people who survived this terrible disaster.
