Narrative:
The film takes place in the 60s of the last century, during the so-called cold war. Nurturing insane plans for a nuclear war, the imperialists are increasing the arms race day after day. Supersonic planes with atomic and hydrogen bombs on board are constantly in the air, which increases the danger of an accidental nuclear explosion, which could lead to a major man-made and ecological catastrophe.
Considering the supersonic speeds of the new enemy aircraft, a small change in course could lead to these aircraft entering the territory of the USSR, therefore, the command of the Soviet Pacific Fleet decided to deploy special technical observation posts far out in the ocean, located on small islands.
Each such point in the ocean was equipped with the most modern radar equipment, and was duplicated by a well-fortified reserve point, practically invulnerable to any type of nuclear weapon. In addition, posts located in areas of natural disasters had to monitor the seismological situation and be able to distinguish a tsunami from a gravitational wave and, in case of danger, immediately transmit a signal to alert the mainland: "Attention, tsunami!"
Since the tsunami was the result of an underwater earthquake, it was practically invisible in the ocean itself, but as it approached the shore, the wave reached an unprecedented height, being, in fact, a huge tide.
The observation post where Captain-Lieutenant Alekseyev's crew was located encountered this formidable element during their combat duty. Risking their lives, the sailors took all measures to transmit a distress signal to the mainland and save the lives of tens of thousands of people...
