Narrative:

The action of the film "Land on Demand" takes place in 1936. Soviet intelligence officer Lev Manevich (Etienne), working in Italy under the guise of Austrian industrialist Konrad Kertner, contacts the center with an important report.

Etienne reported to the center information about the preparation of a military-fascist coup in Spain, in connection with which, every foreigner in Italy was subject to increased interest from the local special services. Feeling surveillance, Etienne could not risk the people who were in contact with him, therefore, he asked the center for his replacement.

But while a new resident was being trained in Moscow, Etienne continued to work and collect information about the latest models of aviation technology that the Germans were preparing for the war in Spain.

While trying to hand over documents, Etienne was arrested and sentenced by an Italian court to twelve years in prison. But even while behind bars, Etienne continued to work and send important reports to the center, using the local anti-fascists' communication channel...
