Narrative:

The action of the movieSannikov Land takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in Russia. One hundred years ago, the Russian industrialist Sannikov discovered an unknown land in the Arctic ice that was not listed on any world map.

Since then, many expeditions have been sent to search for the mysterious land, but none have found anything. Most of the expeditions died on the way to the promised land or on the way back without ever seeing it.

Alexander Petrovich Ilyin, a political exile and former geographical scientist, prepares another expedition to search for the Sannikov Land. Having secured the support of local gold producer Perfiliev, who agreed to finance the venture, Ilyin sets off on his journey.

In search of the mysterious land Ilyin takes with him a brave officer-adventurer Krestovsky, a fugitive exile Gubin and Perfiliev's servant Ignatius, who was sent by his master to look after Ilyin.

Several days of fruitless search for land in the vast desert ice made the travelers despondent. Krestovsky and Ignatius sounded the alarm and decided to turn back. But on climbing the mountain, they were the first to see the long-awaited land, which amazed the travelers with its beauty.

Soon another surprise awaited the travelers - an encounter with the inhabitants of Sannikov Land. The Onkilon tribe, who had left the big land four hundred years ago, now ruled here. The Onkilons were hospitable to the aliens, but gave them a condition that they must now stay with them forever.

But the chief shaman of the tribe did not share the chief's point of view, believing that the aliens should be eliminated. Seeing that the chief does not give in to his beliefs, the shaman orders his men to eliminate him.

At this time, an earthquake occurs, the consequence of which could be a dramatic change in the climate of the land of Onkilon. The underground volcano that had been warming the earth was now subsiding and Sannikov Land was soon to become an icy desert.
