Narrative:

The film "The Promised Land of Joseph Stalin" takes place between 1941 and 1948. In the most difficult first months of the war, it was extremely important for the leadership of the Soviet Union to attract new allies in the form of the USA and Great Britain, and knowing what an important role the Jews play in these countries, Joseph Stalin decides to play the card of the eternal Jewish question.

This eternal Jewish question was promised land, promised to the Jews by God and the prophet Moses in Palestine. But Stalin could not promise the Jews the creation of the Jewish state of Israel in Palestine, since Palestine was under the rule of Great Britain at that time, therefore, Stalin decides to promise the Jews the promised land in Crimea.

But Crimea was under German occupation at that time, and by promising to give it to the Jews, Stalin rightly expected that Jewish financial and industrial circles in the USA would now significantly increase their financial support for the USSR, and thus speed up victory in the war against Germany.

However, Stalin had no intention of giving Crimea to the Jews, so he did not make this proposal officially, but decided that it should be conveyed to interested parties through unofficial channels. For this purpose, it was necessary to choose a person who would have no connection with the official Soviet government and would have authority in Jewish circles in the West.

Such a person turned out to be Mikhoels Solomon Mikhailovich, the chief director of the Moscow Jewish Theater. Now Mikhoels also headed the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, which was created at the suggestion of Beria, and was called upon to show that in the USSR not only there was no anti-Semitism, but that Jews were supported at the state level…
