The Headless Horseman (1973) movie plot:

After three years of war between the USA and Mexico, Texas goes to America and becomes its 28th state. The new lands needed to be developed and promised huge money to the pioneers. Therefore, a wealthy planter from Louisiana, Poindexter, buys a hacienda in Texas, Casa del Corvo, where he soon heads with his son Henry and daughter Louise.

Poindexter's nephew, Captain Cassius Colhoun, travels to Casa del Corvo with his family. In reality, Poindexter was only the formal owner of the hacienda, while its real owner was Colhoun, to whom Poindexter owed a lot of money.

Calhoun was in love with Louise and was going to marry her. And Poindexter could thus pay off his debts. And probably this is how it all would have happened if Louise had not met the noble Irishman Maurice Gerald in Casa del Corvo.

Poor Mustanger captivated every woman he met along the way. Louise was no exception. And Calhoun realized that only by getting rid of his rival could he marry Louise.

One day, Colquhoun provoked a quarrel between Maurice and Louisa's brother Henry, hoping that he would kill the Irishman to defend his sister's honor. However, the next day, Henry disappeared, and Maurice was arrested and tried for his murder.

And soon the locals saw an ominous vision. A headless horseman was riding through the mountains, whom the locals immediately dubbed the devil. But the old hunter and Maurice's friend Zeb Stamp did not believe in devils. He realized that this horseman was a silent witness to the crime of which his friend was accused...
