Narrative:
The action of the film "The Queen of Clubs" takes place in our time. Police Major Pavel Viktorov is sent by the chief of police to his hometown of Valuev. Just before the arrival of the new chief, a fire occurs in the bathhouse of a private home, as a result of which two men of gypsy nationality die.
It seemed that it was an ordinary accident. And the local detectives were ready to file the case away, but the new police chief who arrived from the capital decided not to rush to conclusions.
And he was not mistaken, because a few days later a young man was arrested who tried to commit a robbery at a pawnshop. And as Viktorov managed to find out, one of the gypsies who had burned in the bathhouse had handed in gold stolen from the mines to that very pawnshop…
