Действие фильма «Река памяти» происходит в наше время. Молодой геолог из Москвы Андрей собирается в отпуск, который мечтает провести со своей невестой Дашей у моря. Однако в последний момент начальство вместо отпуска отправляет Андрея в командировку в Карелию, на заброшенный рудник.

Having decided to combine business with pleasure, Andrey takes Dasha with him to Karelia, and at the very last moment, Lera, Andrey’s colleague at work, who was seriously in love with the young geologist, unexpectedly joins them.

One evening, while setting up camp by the river, the guys get caught in a severe thunderstorm. The wind blows away the tent, and Andrey rushes after it, while Dasha and Lera run to the boat to get their things. Dasha slips, falls into the river and disappears under the water. All attempts to find her body are unsuccessful: the girl goes missing.

Two years have passed. Having accepted that Dasha is no more, Andrei is going to marry Lera, but a few weeks before the wedding he saw a photo of a girl on the Internet who looked very much like Dasha. Despite Lera's protests, Andrei immediately packs up and goes to Karelia: to ease his conscience, he needs to make sure who this girl really is.

The girl they had found really turned out to be Dasha, only now her name was Anna, she had lost her memory, and she didn't even remember Andrey. Now she was married to the local ferryman Semyon, and it seemed she was happy and content with her new life.

This circumstance makes Andrey accept the loss of Dasha and leave for Moscow, but soon strange things begin to happen. He notices that Semyon does not love Dasha and is cheating on her with a married woman. He sees that Dasha is in Semyon's house as a servant, whom his mother treats very cruelly.

The neighbor remembered that ten years ago a girl had already lived in Semyon and his mother's house, but one day she mysteriously disappeared. Andrey understands that Dasha is in danger, and in order to save her, he needs to unravel the mystery of the girl who died many years ago...
