The plot of the movie Friend (movie 1987):
In the recent past, Nikolai Nikitin (Kolyun) was a successful accordionist who was recognized by many foreign experts. He had a wife and a daughter, and it seemed that he had a cloudless future.
However, one day everything changed and, a few years later, the promising musician found himself at the bottom of the social pyramid. Alcohol changed his life beyond recognition and instead of touring abroad, he was forced to beg for alms at the market.
One day, during another trip to the market, Kolyun asks for alms at the market, citing the need to buy a pet for a sick child. He is watched by a man with a dog, who offers Nikolai to take the dog free of charge, and even with monetary compensation.
Nikolai readily agrees, but soon it turns out that this dog had the gift of speech, which Kolun at first attributed to an unclean force. However, the dog, who introduces himself to Nikolai as Friend, tries to awaken Nikolai's conscience by persuading him to give up his addiction.
A friend forces Kolyan to engage in physical exercises, go jogging in the morning and refrain from drinking alcohol. Gradually Nikolai begins to lead a sober lifestyle and even tries to establish relations with his daughter.
Kolyun's normal life, thanks to his friend, was quickly getting better, and he forgot that in the first days of their acquaintance he had written a letter to his friend Mitka, asking him to help him get rid of the annoying dog. And one morning one day Mitya entered Kolyun's apartment in the company of the gibbetters....
