Действие фильма «Акселератка» происходит в конце 80-х годов. Выпускница средней школы Анюта с детства мечтает работать сыщиком, и едва получив аттестат зрелости, отправляется работать в милицию. Анюта успела хорошо подготовиться к своей будущей работе, она не только изучила уголовный кодекс, но и в совершенстве овладела восточными единоборствами: дзюдо, карате и у-шу.

However, despite such training, the head of the criminal investigation department, Pryakhin, categorically refuses to hire her because of her very young age. Having received an unexpected refusal, Anyuta returns home, but on the way she protects a young man from hooligans, who turns out to be an insurance agent STATE INSURANCE.

Kuzya, that was the name of this timid young man, walked the streets trying to insure someone, but could not find a suitable client. Anyuta tries to help her new acquaintance and, seeing an expensive Volga car in the yard, suggests that Kuzya find the owner of the car and persuade him to insure it.

The owner of the Volga, found without much difficulty, happily agrees to take out insurance, but to Anyuta's surprise, Kuzya suddenly began to dissuade the woman from taking out insurance. To Anyuta's question, Kuzya replied that this woman was already insuring her third car, and that GOSSTRAKH had paid her thirty thousand rubles for the previous two.

Anyuta immediately realized that this was a crime scene and suggested that Kuzya expose the scammers. After following the car's owner, they come across a certain Vovchik, who in turn leads them to a gang engaged in illegal car trade...
