Narrative:

Action of the film Twenty days without war takes place at the end of 1942, beginning of 1943. Writer and frontline journalist Vasily Lopatin gets twenty days of long-awaited vacation, which he decides to spend in Tashkent.

Here in Tashkent, where not only a significant part of the population from Moscow and Leningrad was evacuated, but also theaters, film studios, factories, Lopatin had many things to do. First of all, Lopatin decides to visit the family of his dead comrade, but to his great chagrin he learns that his wife already has another husband.

Lopatin himself was in the same situation: his wife had also found another man and now Vasily had to confirm his telegram of consent to divorce. Here, in the house of his now ex-wife, Lopatin met the theater costume designer Nina Nikolaevna, with whom he experienced a short but bright love.

Returning to the front, Vasily Lopatin will remember with great pleasure these twenty days without war, which will forever remain the most vivid impressions of his entire life...
