Narrative:

The action of the movie "Horseback Riding" takes place in the early 60's of the last century. The main character of the movie fifteen-year-old village boy Alexei Levshin dreams of becoming a tractor driver like his legendary fellow villager Pal Palych Shugai, who was the best tractor driver in the region. In the meantime, Alyoshka worked for Shugai as a trailer driver instead of his old friend Kolka Lopatin.

Kolka was two years older than Alyosha, but unlike him he did not dream of a career as a tractor driver in particular or of working on a collective farm in general. Kolka Lopatin dreamed of a beautiful city life, and looked enviously at the city dwellers.

And then one day the collective farm sent Lopatin to study at the mechanization school, where Kolka was not eager to go. At the same time Alyoshka had to go to the city to visit his uncle Ivan Kuzmich Levshin. Having learned that Alyosha has never seen his uncle in his life, Kolka suggests that he switch roles.

Knowing how keen Alyosha was on tractors, Kolka suggested that he enroll in the school instead of him, and that he, in turn, go to his uncle instead of him. At first the hard-working Alyosha didn't like the idea, but he really wanted to become a tractor driver, and he didn't want to let down his friend Kolka, who dreamed of city life.

So Alyosha Levshin becomes Nikolai Lopatin - a student of the mechanization school, and Kolka goes to visit his uncle Ivan Kuzmich. As real conspirators guys skillfully got out of various difficult situations in which they got, but sooner or later all the secret is revealed ...
