Plot:

The action of the film "Smuggling" takes place in the early 80s of the last century. In the inspection hall of the Odessa sea post, an abandoned suitcase was discovered, in which customs officers found parts made of the highest grade platinum. Such parts were used to make contacts in high-precision devices and could only be manufactured in factory conditions.

The KGB learns that a new batch of stolen parts from the plant will soon be shipped abroad on a cruise ship. It is also known that the smuggler was a member of the crew and worked in the trade line.

Under the guise of an engineer going on a business trip abroad, the KGB introduces its operative Alexander Zvonarev onto the ship. And soon after the ship departs, Zvonarev receives a coded message from the shore that a certain Satarius, a foreign businessman who was once detained for attempting to smuggle gold, is on the ship.

Zvonarev realized that it was no coincidence that Satarius ended up on this particular ship and decided to track down his connection with one of the ship’s trade workers.

Meanwhile, an emergency occurs on the ship: the galley worker Zina Shuranova has disappeared. According to eyewitnesses, that day she found some kind of package in the kitchen, which, judging by its weight, contained metal…
