Plot Love Earthly (movie 1974):
The action of the movie Earthly love takes place at the turn of the 30s-40s of the last century in a small village in Russia. Fyodor Makashin, a raskulanized peasant, sets fire to grain barns in retaliation for the Soviet authorities. The arsonist is caught, and at the first interrogation in the village council Makashin he complains to the secretary of the district committee Tikhon Bryukhanov that the chairman of the collective farm Zakhar Deryugin covers up the family Polivanovs, who were also subject to raskulachivanie. The reason: chairman Deryugin is sleeping with Mania Polivanova.
The fact of moral "decomposition" of the collective farm chairman was also confirmed by Anisimov, chairman of the village council. Bryukhanov calls Deryugin for a conversation and demands to forget Polivanova, because he has a wife and four children. Besides, Deryugin is the chairman of the collective farm and a communist, and he should be an example to the collective farmers.
But the stern admonition of his superior to forget the young beauty Manya did not stop the chairman in love, but Deryugin did not want to leave his wife and children either. Only a lazy man in the collective farm did not discuss the affair between Deryugin and Manya. However, the chairman harshly suppressed such conversations, and once even slapped the foreman, whom he had previously dismissed for sabotage.
But soon the whole collective farm saw the result of the stormy affair: Manya Polivanova gave birth to a baby boy. The Polivanov brothers, who had been against the secret relationship between the married Deryugin and their sister, caught the chairman and beat him up.

The chairman of the village council, Anisimov, a former nobleman who hated Soviet power, but who had managed to infiltrate the party by intrigue, decided to bring down the collective farm chairman and reported everything to the district committee.
Deryugin was summoned to the bureau of the district committee, where his fate was to be decided. To the demand of some party members to abandon Manya Polivanova, Deryugin answered with a categorical refusal. The chairman of the district committee, Bryukhanov, was an old comrade of Deryugin's and understood what a difficult life situation Zakhar had found himself in.
He also realized that administrative actions against Deryugin would not solve the problem and asked his party comrades not to cut him off at the drop of a hat. But among the members of the District Committee the voices about Deryugin's expulsion from the Party were growing stronger, and Zakhar, in spite of Brukhanov's demands, left the bureau and went to Mana's village.
Zakhar enters the house and asks Manya to pack up the child and run away with him. But Manya refused: now that she had a child of her own, she clearly understood that she could not leave Zakhar's four children without a father.
Meanwhile, by decision of the bureau of the district committee, Deryugin was expelled from the Party and demoted to a simple collective farmer. Some time later he met Mania at the factory construction site, and Mania informed him that she was going to stay at the construction site. Having returned to the village, Deryugin builds a house, but his wife sees that even in the new house Zakhar will not be happy with her, because all his thoughts were with that other.
When the house was finished, Efrosinya has a serious conversation with Zakhar and lets him go to his beloved, hoping that her husband will help the children in any way he can. But the conversation was not over; the war knocked on the Deryugin house and other homes of millions of Soviet families....
