Narrative:
The action of the series "Love for Love" takes place shortly before the First World War. Ensign Alexander Nikolaevich Grigoriev arrived to serve in the Uhlan regiment, stationed in a small provincial town, in which, as it seemed to him at first, there was no entertainment except for playing cards and drinking in the local tavern with the same officers as himself.
But one day a very unusual person entered the tavern, who attracted the attention of all the men present: she was a very beautiful girl, and judging by her manners and clothes, she clearly belonged to high society.
Grigoriev immediately made inquiries about this young beauty and found out that Nina, as the girl was called, was the niece of the adviser Pavel Stakhovsky, the owner of the most luxurious estate in the district.
Thanks to his friendship with a local pharmacist, Grigoriev very soon manages to receive an invitation to Stakhovsky's house, where, in addition to Nina, there lived an equally attractive young lady - Valeria, the only daughter of Stakhovsky's adviser.

True, her beauty was marred by the fact that the girl was paralyzed. Several years ago, she fell from a horse and damaged her spine, and now she was forced to move around in a wheelchair. The adviser spared no expense in treating his daughter, inviting the best doctors in the country, but so far no one had managed to even slightly improve the patient's condition.
After his first visit to the Stakhovskys' house, Grigoriev came to this house again and again, hoping to meet Nina once again. To do this, he was forced to constantly entertain her cousin Valery, not suspecting that the girl had fallen madly in love with him.
Love works wonders, and even the doctor who constantly observed Valeria noticed the changes for the better that had happened to her. Stakhovsky noticed this too, and he persuaded Grigoriev to get engaged to his daughter. In gratitude, the adviser promises to immediately transfer all the property and money to the ensign.
However, although Grigoriev was a representative of an impoverished noble family, his officer's honor did not allow him to take advantage of the unfortunate girl's situation for the sake of money and fortune. On the other hand, pushing Valeria away when she embarked on the path to recovery would have been completely inhumane. Grigoriev faced a difficult choice, in which one wrong decision could lead to tragic consequences...
