Narrative:
The action of the movie Love and doves takes place in the early 1980s in the Russian countryside. Vasily Kuzyakin, a worker in the timber industry, father of three children, an exemplary family man and worker. Like all men, Vasily drank in his spare time, but he knew the measure and did not abuse it. But Vasily's main passion was pigeons.
On the pigeons Vasily Kuzyakin spared no expense, could take out the last from the house to buy a couple of feathered, for which he always got a smack from his beloved wife Nadya. But one day the measured family life of the Kuzyakins became under threat.
Once Vasily was injured at work and the trade union committee allocated him a trip to the south as rehabilitation. But on the very first day, while swimming in the sea, Vasily met Raisa Zakharovna, who worked as an accountant in the timber industry office. Raisa Zakharovna, an unmarried woman, was not very happy with her fellow countryman at first, but since they met thousands of kilometers away from home, it was fate.

Vasily and Raisa Zakharovna spend almost all their time together, and the intelligent woman wins the heart and soul of the not very educated forestry worker with her abstruse stories, and when they return to their homeland, the lovers are already planning to live together. Vasily writes a letter to his relatives under the dictation of Raisa Zakharovna, in which he informs them that he will not return home.
This news hits the whole Kuziakin family like a thunderclap, and Vasily's son Lenka even threatens to kill his father if he dares to appear on the threshold of their house. But first Raisa Zakharovna appears in the house of the Kuzyakins, she came to reconnoiter the situation, and at the same time to present herself as Vasily's new wife.
However, a constructive dialog with Vasily's wife did not take place, and Nadyukha kicked out of her house separated. Nevertheless, the joint life of Vasily and Raisa Zakharovna did not last long. Vasily missed his relatives and decided to return home. But at home Vasily was given a "warm" welcome, and his son Lenka almost fulfilled his promise to kill his father.
Vasily leaves the family again, but Nadyukha, realizing that she and Vasily have true love, searches for her husband, and they return home together. And soon Nadyukha gets pregnant and the Kuzyakins and their neighbors see off the elder Lyonka to the army, launching pigeons in farewell....
