Plot of the film Operation Trust (1967 film):
The film takes place in 1921. The Main Political Directorate (OGPU) An underground organization of White émigrés called the “Monarchist Organization of Central Russia” (MOCR) was exposed and liquidated.
However, despite the great success, the Chekists were in no hurry to make public the details of this brilliant operation. On the contrary, all the details of this case were classified, because the destruction of one organization would entail the creation of many others.
Having learned from their mistakes, the enemies of Soviet power would have acted more cautiously and sophisticatedly. That is why the Chekists decided to play ahead.
Under the leadership of the OGPU chairman Dzerzhinsky, a secret operation codenamed "Trust" was developed.
The main idea of this operation was to create the illusion for the enemy that there was a powerful underground group in Russia capable of initiating counter-revolutionary actions. For this reason, the liquidated organization MOCR was restored under a new name - "Trust".
Thus, the “Trust” was supposed to become a kind of bait for terrorist elements among the White émigrés, operating both inside the country and abroad…
