Plot:

Action of the film Escape is happening in our time in Russia. The talented neurosurgeon Evgeny Vetrov is holding a presentation of his clinic, which is destined to become the first private medical center in Russia with its own research institute.

During the presentation, Vetrov's wife Irina suddenly felt ill, and Evgeny was about to take his wife home, but Vetrov's colleague and friend Sobolev asked him to stay, because investors would probably not understand such an early departure. In addition, with Vetrov's departure, Sobolev would have to lead the presentation, and he was not prepared for this.

Irina asks her husband to listen to the requests of colleagues and leaves home herself. Having sent his wife home, Evgeniy worries, because there was a quarrel between them recently. Since the spouses could not have their own children, Irina suggested that Evgeniy adopt a child from an orphanage, but Vetrov changed his mind at the last moment. Without finishing reading the presentation, Evgeniy rushed home, but found his wife dying.

The killer inflicted severe injuries on her, from which Irina died right before the eyes of her grief-stricken husband. She did not have time to say anything to her husband before her death, but Evgeny found a contact lens in his wife's hand, which the killer had probably lost. Numerous witnesses testified that Evgeny had recently been arguing with his wife frequently and threatening to kill her, which is why the court found Vetrov to be his wife's killer.

Miraculously, Vetrov manages to escape his pursuers and get to Moscow. But in Moscow, Pakhomov manages to detain Vetrov. The colonel explains to Evgeny that he must help his daughter, then he will make every effort to justify Vetrov. Evgeny hands Pakhomov an important piece of evidence, the very same contact lens found at the murder scene.

The lens was rare, so Pakhomov managed to identify its owner. It turned out to be his colleague Lieutenant Colonel Topilin. Topilin kidnaps Vetrov and accuses him of the death of his wife, whom Evgeny operated on. At the last moment, Evgeny manages to convince Topilin that it was not he who operated on his wife, but his colleague Sobolev, who now took Vetrov's place in the clinic and slandered Evgeny in front of Topilin.

Realizing that Sobolev set him up, Topilin kills him and then shoots himself. Pakhomov fulfilled his promise and Vetrov successfully performs the operation on his daughter. After the operation, Evgeny asks Pakhomov to let him go for an hour and goes to the orphanage to adopt the boy, because that's what Irina wanted so much...
