The plot of the movie Presumption of Innocence (movie 1988):
The action of the movie takes place on a train. After a concert in Moscow, the famous Soviet rock singer Zoya Bolotnikova goes to Leningrad to go on tour to Finland.
She is accompanied by the group's director Grigory Stepanovich Kozinets and administrator Leonid Borisovich Ozeran.
As soon as the train starts, Bolotnikova discovers that her passport is missing. Zoya immediately informs Leonid Borisovich and Grigory Stepanovich about the disappearance. A thorough examination of all Bolotnikova's belongings did not yield any results. The tour is on the verge of failure...
Kozinets and Ozeran inform the train chief about the missing passport from a Soviet pop star, and asks him to call the police.
At the same time, two medics Pyotr Nikitich and Mikhail Sovchi, sent on an advanced training course, at an intermediate station between Moscow and Leningrad unsuccessfully trying to take tickets to Leningrad.
All attempts to get tickets at the ticket office are unsuccessful and business travelers go directly to the train, hoping to negotiate with the conductor.
This time they were lucky. The conductor mistook them for police officers who had been summoned by the head of the train and led them into the carriage.
Pyotr Nikitich and Misha could not understand what caused such cordiality. But soon the head of the train explained the situation to them. They had to find the foreign passport of a famous singer.
Pyotr Nikitich suggests that his young colleague confess that they are mistaken for the wrong people. But in this case they will be immediately dropped off at the nearest station.
Misha offers to take on other people's roles and quietly drive to Leningrad. In addition, Mikhail was an ardent fan of Bolotnikova, and did not want to miss the chance to get to know her idol better.
At first Misha only wanted to stall for time, pretending to be a detective, but then he so entered into the role that by the end of the "investigation" case almost turned against him ...
