Narrative:
The action of the movie "Next to Us" takes place in the mid-50s of the last century. After graduating from the institute, two friends engineer Nikolai Zhukov and journalist Andrei Korolev are sent to work at a factory in the town of Verkhnyaya Kamenka.
Nikolai was appointed foreman in the lathe shop, and Andrei as a correspondent in the factory newspaper.
However, soon after the start of work between friends there is a quarrel because of Andrei's feuilleton, in which he ridiculed the turner Yasha Milovidov, who worked under Nikolai.
Milovidov was listed as a front-runner in production, and his picture for a long time hung on the board of honor, on this account, Nikolai was sincerely indignant at the criticism, on the part of the factory newspaper.
