Plot of the film The Taming of the Shrew (1980 film):
At forty years old, farmer Elia Codogno could boast something that most of his peers could not. He was slim, fit, broad-shouldered and in good physical condition. And all this, as Elia believed, he had because he had never married.
Elia had never been married, he had never even been in love. And he considered women to be useless creatures. In order to somehow extinguish his natural human desires, Elia began chopping wood.
But on his birthday, everything changed. One evening, a beautiful young girl from Milan knocked on the door of his village house. Her car had broken down near Codogno's house and she decided to ask the owner to let her stay for the night.
Lisa Silvestri (that was the girl's name) never had problems with men. Not once in her life had any man refused her. On the contrary, she often had to give the go-ahead to numerous admirers.
But this strange country man turned out to be not only indecently inhospitable, but also seemed to be completely uninterested in her as a woman.
The hurt beauty could not tolerate such treatment and decided to make this uncouth boor fall in love with her...
