Plot of the film The Magic Voice of Gelsomino (1977) :
The red-haired boy Gelsomino has an extraordinary voice that can break glass and throw pears from tree branches. Considering him a sorcerer, then a saint, Gelsomino decides to leave his native village.
Traveling around the world, he finds himself in the Land of Liars, where pirates ruled under the leadership of the chieftain Giacomone.
They set rules for all the inhabitants of the country that required them to tell lies. Although the leader himself and his henchmen could say whatever they wanted. Counterfeit money is in circulation here, and artists create distorted images of reality.
However, not all the inhabitants of this country wanted to obey Giacomone's gang and their criminal laws. Among them, Gelsomino finds new and loyal friends, with whom he begins a rebellion against Giacomone.
They help the inhabitants to realize the truth, using honest inscriptions on the walls of buildings. As a result, the criminal regime of Giacomone is exposed. And although the usurper himself manages to escape, many of his accomplices appear before a fair people's court...
