Plot:
Action of the film Red diplomatic couriers unfolds in 1920 during the civil war in Russia. The commander of the regiment of the first cavalry army Vasily Peregudov is demobilized from the army due to health reasons after being seriously wounded.
In civilian life, as it turned out, it was not so easy for the former miner from Yuzovka and commander of the Red Army to realize himself. Even before the civil war, Peregudov, saving his family, took them to Moscow, and in Moscow his former mining profession turned out to be of no use. Therefore, despite his past merits, Vasily remained without work.
But having defeated all the bourgeois in one, separate country, the Soviet government decided to postpone the world revolution until better times and somehow build relations with foreign bourgeois, establishing diplomatic relations with them.
That is why, in 1925, the party remembered its ardent fighter Vasily Peregudov and sent him to the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs to work on the diplomatic front. At first, Peregudov was indignant when he was offered the position of diplomatic courier. How could a Red commander, a participant in the storming of the Winter Palace, work as a postman! And on top of everything else, wear a suit, tie and cufflinks - all these hated bourgeois attributes!
But soon Peregudov radically changed his attitude towards the profession of a diplomatic courier, because often red diplomatic couriers became victims of attacks: both from ordinary bandits and from inveterate class enemies.
One day, Peregudov and his colleague Janis Aurins had to deliver diplomatic mail to the USSR embassy in Riga. In addition to the mail, the diplomatic couriers had to deliver a large sum of money in British currency.
Meanwhile, the enemies of the Soviet Union are not asleep and decide to take over the diplomatic mail. For this purpose, they sign up former White Guards who had their own scores to settle with the Reds, and besides, the former masters of Russia did not disdain to earn a little dirty money...
