Narrative:
The action of the movie White Bim Black Ear takes place in the mid-70s of the last century in Russia. Ivan Ivanovich, a former front-line soldier and now a retired writer lost his family a few years ago. His son died in the mountains, and his wife died a year later, unable to bear the grief.
One day Ivan Ivanovich dropped in on a friend who was a dog breeder. He had just had a new addition of seven Scottish Setter puppies. Three of the buddy had already managed to sell, and in the box the writer saw three more. While Ivan Ivanovich was looking at the puppies, a fourth puppy suddenly jumped out of the bag in the corner, completely white, only a black ear indicated that it belonged to the breed of Scottish setter.
After all, the Scottish Setter has a blue-black color, and white color was a sign of degeneration, and the seller, afraid as if the buyers would not find out, wanted to drown the puppy.
But Ivan Ivanovich liked this albino, because a Scottish setter with such a color was very rare and was born once in a hundred years. He had read that Leo Tolstoy had a Scottish setter with white coloring, and perhaps Bim, as Ivan Ivanovich called the puppy, was a descendant of the great writer's dog.
Bim really turned out to be an outstanding dog. His hunting skills were simply amazing, but the commission for issuing documents refused to recognize him, because the color of the dog was wrong, contrary to all the governing documents.

But Ivan Ivanovich was not very upset about the documents, because Bim was his best friend, intelligent and faithful.
But one day Ivan Ivanovich was in trouble. A piece of shrapnel made itself known, which gave on his heart. With a severe heart attack, the writer was taken away by ambulance, and then he was sent to Moscow to the cardiac center. Bim was left in the care of a neighbor and greatly longed for his master.
Walking around the city in search of Ivan Ivanovich, Bim finds himself in various vicissitudes of life. Fate confronts him not only with kind and sympathetic people, but also with evil, selfish and cruel scoundrels. On his dog skin Bim had to learn that a man is not always a friend to a dog ...
