Narrative:

The action of the movie "Children of Monday" takes place in the mid-90s in Russia. A successful businessman, or as they used to say at the time "new Russian"Dima Medyakin finds out one day that he is bankrupt. Moreover, he still owes a large amount of money, and how to deal with debtors in the dashing 90's, Dima Medyakin knew firsthand.

The first thing Dima does is to rush to a commercial bank, where he withdraws all the money from his deposit and goes to pay off his creditors. It is not known how this story would have ended, if on the way Dima had not decided to relieve a little stress and drink properly.

Medyakin drank so much that he lost consciousness, and when he woke up, he realized that he was in his small homeland in the village, in the house of his first lover Lidia Ovdeeva. As Dima found out later, he was brought here by his wife Sveta, Olga's sister, from whom she had managed to wrest a promising fiancé many years ago.

But now the situation has changed: bankrupt and debtor Dima Medyakin was no longer considered a promising husband and Sveta decided to get rid of him in this way. Besides, Dima and Olga were born on Monday, and as we know, children of Mondays are always unlucky in life.

At that moment, when Dima had just started to come to his senses with a heavy hangover, it really seemed to him that he was extremely unlucky, but soon the country air began to have a beneficial effect on Dima. All the more so because he now had Olga by his side, who still loved him and even after many years of separation had never married.

Dima began to realize that all these years he had been living somehow wrong. He was always striving for something, wanting to prove something to someone, to catch up and overtake someone, and happiness turned out to be much closer than he had imagined it many years ago....
