Narrative:

The action of the movie Two tickets to the afternoon session takes place in the 60s of the last century in Leningrad. Alexander Alyoshin, a graduate of the Institute of Chemical Technology, is sent by the District Komsomol Committee to work in the police, in the department for combating theft of socialist property.

But very soon Alyoshin realizes that he has no vocation for this work, and submits a request for dismissal from the authorities. His boss Colonel Nikolaev promises to satisfy the request, but lastly instructs Alyoshin to check the two tickets for the afternoon session at the "Udarnik" movie theater, seized during the search of the detained currency dealers.

The colonel was interested in the fact that the tickets were bought for different dates, but for the same seat. Alyoshin immediately rushed to the "Udarnik" and bought a ticket for the seat that appeared on the tickets seized from the criminals. As it turned out, this seat in the movie theater was the criminals' turnout and soon Alyoshin was approached by their contact.

According to the developed legend, Alyoshin told the gangster's contact that he had recently been released from prison, where he had met one of their accomplices, who had given him an appearance at the movie theater. Having learned that Alyoshin had studied at the Institute of Chemical Technology, the gang leader Sabodazh patronized him to work at the research institute, in the laboratory of the scientist Lebedyansky.

Lebedyansky, a young but very talented and promising scientist who invented a new synthetic fiber, and Alyoshin at first could not understand what connected him with the scumbag criminals. But soon the young detective thanks to Lebedyansky's invention came on the trail of an extensive network of "shopkeepers" who use Lebedyansky's fiber for their own mercenary purposes....
