Plot of the film And again Aniskina:
Several years have passed, Aniskina is already a police major. In the first part, the village detective was 63 years old and a lieutenant. From lieutenant to major is five years of service, so Aniskina is presumably almost seventy, although the maximum age of service for majors is fifty years.
But, probably, there was an acute shortage of personnel, or, most likely, Fyodor Ivanovich was an irreplaceable worker, therefore, at almost seventy years old, he remained at a combat post to protect socialist legality. As a lieutenant, Anichkin investigated the theft of an accordion from a club for 350 rubles, and as a senior lieutenant, the detective solved the case of the theft of a bag with money worth about three thousand rubles. But now, seeing that the district police officer had become a major, the criminals decided to wrap up larger cases, why steal small change from pockets and needlessly disturb a seventy-year-old cop.
Ceramic exhibits of historical and cultural value have been stolen from a village museum. Judging by the way the thief selected the most valuable exhibits, Aniskina concluded that this time it was not some amateur projectionist working against him, but a real professional, cunning and dodgy.
The only clue was that the criminal was tall, because he had taken out a valuable vase that was on a high shelf. And besides, the boot prints were no smaller than size forty-five. Having gone through all the village strongmen, Anichkin had narrowed down the suspect circle to three people.

This is the local intellectual tractor driver Sidorov and two visiting day laborers: Burovskikh and Molochkov. Soon this trio was replenished with another one - the sailor Grigoryev, who was separated from his steamship. Aniskina picked him up in a local alcoholic den, in the company of the speculator Verka Kosaya.
The witness testified that she once saw Verka with a tall man in glasses, with a big black beard and long hair. Aniskina became interested in the "bearded man" and decided to check the connection between her and the sailor who had fallen behind the ship.
It turned out that the sailor had already fallen behind his ship more than once, and Aniskina began to work on it. In Grigoriev's cabin, the detective found a suitcase containing some of the valuables stolen from the museum.
The frightened sailor told the investigation that he did not know about the contents of the suitcase and only agreed to deliver it to the city for money and hand it over to a man named Filin. Aniskina and an investigator from the Orlov district decide to conduct an operation codenamed "Suitcase" and catch the criminal red-handed at the moment of receiving the suitcase.

But Filin already knew from Verka that the sailor had been "burned" and had not gone to the meeting. Aniskina and Orlov understand that the mysterious hairy, bearded man in glasses is Filin, but who of the remaining three? The detectives establish that the criminal hides the loot in the forest and ambush him at night, but the criminal manages to escape.
But Aniskina is sure that, having sensed a trap, the criminal will try to quickly escape from the village, and this can only be done by boat, because there are impassable forests and swamps all around...
